She completed her undergraduate education at the Department of Architecture of the Ankara State Engineering and Architecture Academy in 1978, her postgraduate education at the Business Administration Institute of the Ankara Economic and Commercial Sciences Academy in 1980, and her doctorate at the Department of Architecture of the Gazi University Institute of Science in 1987.

She worked as an Assistant in Ankara State Engineering and Architecture Department between 1979-1982, as a Research Assistant in Gazi University, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Architecture between 1982-1986, as a Lecturer in Gazi University, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Architecture between 1986-1990, as an Assistant Professor in Gazi University, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Architecture between 1990-1998, as an Associate Professor in Gazi University, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Architecture between 1998-2004, and as a Professor in Gazi University, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Architecture between 2004-2022. She served as the Vice Head of the Architecture Department between 2001-2004, and as the Head of the Architecture Department between 2009-2022.

She also served as a member of the Faculty Board as an Associate Professor or Professor, as a member of the Board of Directors as a Professor, as a member of the Academic Criteria Preparation Science Commission, as a member of the Academic Appointment and Promotion Criteria Evaluation Commission, as a member of the Board of Directors of the Continuing Education Application and Research Center, and as a member of the Scientific Research Projects (BAP) Scientific Commission.

He has been a member of the Cultural Heritage Protection High Board of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism since 2011. He has also served as a member and chairman of the Cultural Heritage Protection Regional Boards of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Karabük, and Istanbul IV (Historical Peninsula) since 2009.

She currently continues to serve as a member of the Cultural Heritage Protection High Board of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and as a member of the Ankara Cultural Heritage Protection Regional Board.

She served as a member of the 26th Term UNESCO National Commission Tangible Cultural Heritage Specialization Committee.

Her research interests include architecture, architectural design, theory, criticism, and methodology in architectural planning and design, and conservation, restoration, and renewal in building, environment, and settlement and products within the core field of architecture-planning-design. She has published scientific and academic studies and publications. She has served as editor in important scientific and academic journals. She has also served as a jury member in numerous professionally important architectural competitions.
