Our Students' Academic Achievements
At the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, our students are educated within a system enriched with the latest technologies. Among the core applied courses, Basic Design in the first year and Interior Architecture Studio courses that continue through to the final year play a leading role. These courses are conducted within a design environment that fosters both individual and collective design culture, where instructors act not only as teachers but also as collaborators who think, question, and critique alongside their students. In this setting, students are not passive recipients of knowledge but active, inquisitive, and creative participants. The aim of this approach is to help students discover their own creativity, develop their unique design language, and generate original solutions to design problems. The Studio courses, which form the backbone of the curriculum, are closely coordinated with other applied technical courses such as Technical Drawing, Drawing and Presentation Techniques, Construction and Materials, Advanced Construction Techniques, Computer-Aided Design, and Furniture Design. Additionally, courses such as Ergonomic Design, Environmental Control Systems, Insulation and Fire Safety aim to enhance students’ technical knowledge; Mathematics fosters analytical thinking skills; and Construction Management develops students’ abilities to manage the project and implementation process.
In our department, theoretical courses such as Introduction to Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, History of Art and Design, History of Interior Architecture, and Human-Space-Environment aim not only to equip students with technical proficiency but also to foster a high level of artistic and intellectual development in future interior architects. In addition, students have the opportunity to take elective courses aligned with their individual interests.
