Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gizem Kuçak Toprak, after completing her undergraduate studies in architecture at the top of her department and faculty, completed her master's degree in architectural design and her doctorate with a study on new building designs in historical cities. Dr. Kuçak Toprak began her academic career in 2014 as a research assistant at Atılım University and has served as a lecturer and assistant professor at the same university. Since 2021, she has been a faculty member in the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at Ostim Technical University and has served as department head since 2022. She has participated in the design and preliminary project phases of various projects in the private sector, including public, educational, industrial, and residential buildings, and has participated in award-winning project competitions. While continuing her academic work in the fields of Conservation and Restoration in Building and Environment and Settlements, Local, Vernacular, Rural, and Traditional Architecture, and Architectural Design, she has authored numerous national and international articles, book chapters, and papers, and has participated in BAP (Scientific and Research Projects Project) and research projects. He also serves on important commissions such as the BAP (Scientific Visibility), the Education, Quality, and YÖKAK (Higher Education Council of Turkey) Commissions. He chairs the Design Commission at OSTİM Technical University and leads departmental accreditation processes. He is a member of the MİAK (Architectural Accreditation Board) visiting team pool. He organizes congresses, conferences, seminars, and exhibitions at various universities, including the Earthquake Resistant Building Summit, Mimar Sinan Events, the ARCHIPRIX Turkey National Architecture Students Graduation Projects Competition Colloquium, and student exhibitions. He also meets with high school students on the topic of "The Future," and participates in radio programs. He continues his academic and social contributions by serving as a referee, serving on thesis juries, and actively participating in research projects.
